No 1:Open Architecture
DLL is based on open Ethernet architecture. Each DL terminal has a unique IP address that can easy access any resources in the campus network.
No 2:Video on Demand (VOD) for each student
NewClass DLL is a fully digitalized language lab system that combines the video/audio multimedia processing, core network technology and media stream together. Not only Audio on Demand (AOD), but also Video on Demand (VOD) are supported in DLL.
No. 3:Hi-Fi audio and Real-time Broadcasting
NewClass DLL breaks the delay barrier of TCP/IP in audio/video transfer. Real-time embedded OS (RTOS) and RTP protocol are used in DLL to provide Hi-Fi audio and real-time Broadcasting and Group Discussion.
No. 4:Each Student can Control The Playing Mode and the Speed of the Source
Each student can control the play mode of SP, SPS, SPSP (S: Sentence; P: Pause) and the speed of the playing source independently.
No. 5: Supporting MP3 Compressed Audio Sources
NewClass DL terminal supports MP3 format audio source. For a same quality audio, MP3 format takes only 1/12 of the space of WAV format. It can save a lot of server resources by use MP3 audio directly.
No. 6: Real-time Digital Recording and Compress
Not only NewClass DL terminal can play MP3 audio source, but also it can record and compress the dialogue of the teacher or students to MP3 digital media in real-time.
No. 7: Digital Source can be Generated while Playing the External Source
When the external media (such as, an audio or video tape) is broadcasting, DLL can generate the corresponding digital source at the same time (The MP3 format for audio and VCD format for video). It’s very easy to setup the digital media database through DLL.
No. 8: Low Resources Requirement for VOD
With the unique media compression technology, NewClass DLL can broadcast 80 different MPEG1 or 240 MPEG4 video streams over the common IDE hard disk and 100M Ethernet network.
No. 9: Up to 8 Students can talk simultaneously per Group during Discussion
Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is used in NewClass DLL to maximize the network utilization rate. DLL can support up to 8 students talking simultaneously per group during the discussion.
No. 10: Great Audio Quality
22.05Khz sampling-frequency (compared to common 11.025KHz) is used in audio broadcast, talk and digital recording to ensure the audio saturation. Higher 44.1KHz sampling-frequency is used for external media and recording to ensure the CD stereo quality.
No. 11: Dual Channel Recording & Speaking Test
DLL can record different audio sources to different channels. It’s very useful in Synchronized Translation and Speaking Test during group discussion.
No. 12: Audio Speed Change without Tone Change
A student can change the speed of the playing audio source while still keeping the original tone.
No. 13: Resource Sharing
DLL is based on open network. A student can play any sources in any servers in the network (up to 12 servers).
No. 14: Easy to Upgrade
Powerful Inter PXA CPU gives DL terminal the upgrade room for new requirement. New functions can be downloaded to DL terminal without any hardware modification with the embedded architecture.
